Be The Love You Are

Snuggling Makes everything better

What better way to feel connected and nurtured than in a non-sexual conscious cuddle? A soulful answer to your needs for intimacy, affection, nurturing, loving kindness and sometimes healing. We are answering the call for more human affection and self love with this cuddling service as one of the ways we can do that.

Imagine for a moment never having touched another human being for more than 9 years. Or having lost many loved ones in a short space of time and no one you feel safe enough to ask to be held. These are just some of the stories we have heard from the clients we serve.  Unfortunately it is more common than you think. Studies have shown the impact of lack of touch can be devastating to our well being. Society has been programmed that human contact has to be always sexualized and therefore taboo somehow. Somehow we also pick up messages that we have to do everything ourselves including being held and supported.

All people can benefit for more safe touch but the ones we attract the most are people who have similar stories of isolation, loneliness and social anxiety. We also see a number of clients that have gone through a divorce or loss and are not ready to enter into new partnership or dating but need a person they can trust to hold and be held.

So what is a professional Snuggle and what can you expect?

Paying for a snuggle is like making a booking for a massage service or other healing modality except that you will be lying on a bed spooning, being held and touching each other in a conscious and nurturing way. The snuggle session is an interactive co-creation between the participants and may include snuggling, tickling, playful touch and exploratory fun! The first few minutes are for reviewing the agreements, sometimes a short meditation and breathing exercise will be offered to settle into the space and a discussion of any specific requests or concerns you may have. Then it's time to drift away into a sweet embrace.

How it all started ?

Chris started doing Snuggle parties on the request of a friend Cary who expressed a need for more touch in his life. I had heard of Cuddle Parties started by Reid Mikalo and Sacred Snuggles by Kamala Devi but had never been to one. After witnessing the impact this has had on some of the participants I am committed to offering this gift as part of the spectrum of my embodiment offerings. This then lead to another friend Jennifer telling me about the cuddling movement if you like, which was started and pioneered by Travis Sigley of Cuddle Therapy and then Jacqueline Samuels of The Snuggery. All of this has been very inspiring. I love to cuddle so why not, I say!

THE POWER OF HUMAN TOUCH IS AMAZING

The benefits are numerous including reducing stress, anxiety and depression as well as enhancing joy, fun and playfulness in life. Suffers of trauma and PTSD can also benefit from this type of therapeutic healing through touch that focuses on human contact and open hearted interaction. This is where cuddling, which creates a two way exchange of energy is different than traditional massage and offers an alternative for those that want to feel more fully connected to the experience without any goals or expectations.

Oxytocin - the natural love drug plays a crucial role in nurturing our relationships, strengthening friendships, building trust and enduring marriages. Oxytocin is released in response to hugs, kisses, caresses and sometimes a simple touch.

"A hug prompts the release of oxytocin, leading to feelings of closeness, sexual intimacy, and the release of more oxytocin. In fact, orgasm produces a spike in the hormone more than two times the normal level, accounting for the calming postcoital afterglow and greater bonding," as quoted by Project-aware.
Touch me... Please!

Reawakening that ability for loving touch can be one of the simplest and most beautiful gifts to ourselves and our loved ones. At its most basic, just showing up and being willing to touch someone with the intention of bringing healing or love can be a comforting experience for another. And sometimes it’s as easy as that. We may shy away from placing soothing hands on an aching back or stroking a tense head, thinking drugs or a doctor are more efficient, or not wanting to spend the time. Surprisingly, though, it can be all that’s needed to shift a mood, lighten discomfort, or unlock a deeper emotional layer that’s ready to be cleared. More importantly, touch connects people and increases that sense of trust and love in the world in a way that doctors and drugs struggle to do. Freya Watson- via elephant journal

Chris Diaz. says: I had a snuggle session yesterday through "be the love you are" and words cannot describe the serenity, ecstasy, and beauty I experienced during my snuggle session. The staff person I had my session with was Ariana Papousek who was very open hearted and receptive. she had a welcoming energy about her. I felt safe enough to really open up to her and be vulnerable in the moment with her. I highly recommend this service. Snuggling is helping me to open myself up and be authentic and vulnerable and I find these things Very empowering. Thanks Chris Deccico for having and holding this wonderful service and vision and thanks to all of the cuddlers who make this service and vision happen!

“Touch is needed in the world because love has disappeared. Once the very touch of lovers was enough. A mother touched the child, played with his body, and it was love. The husband played with the body of his woman and it was beautiful; it was enough, more than enough. It was deep relaxation and part of love. But that has disappeared from the world. By and by we have forgotten where to touch, how to touch, how deep to touch. In fact touch is one of the most forgotten languages.” ~ Osho ’
